Why Providers Stay
The support model that changes everything.

Most contract behavioral health positions are transactional. You get placed, you see patients, you handle everything else yourself. Legara built a dedicated operational layer specifically so you don't have to.

⚖

A Dedicated PSR Behind You

Every Legara provider is assigned a full-time Patient Service Representative who handles no more than 3 to 4 providers. Your PSR coordinates scheduling within the health center's EHR, manages patient flow, follows up on no-shows, and handles administrative tasks. You focus on the patient in front of you. Your PSR handles everything around that encounter.

📅

Full Clinical Autonomy

You maintain complete clinical independence. Legara never exercises clinical control over your practice. You make clinical decisions, determine treatment plans, and manage your patients according to your professional judgment. The health center provides clinical oversight through their existing QA/QI processes.

📋

Flexible Scheduling

Work part-time or full-time. Set your availability by day and hours. Many providers work with Legara alongside other professional commitments. We prefer two half-time providers over one full-time for flexibility and coverage, which means part-time is welcome, not penalized.

💰

Transparent Compensation

You earn per completed patient encounter. Rates vary by license type and visit complexity. For reference: therapy providers (LCSW, LMFT) typically earn between $55 and $75 per encounter, with full-time providers seeing 30+ encounters per week. No billing complexity. No collections risk. Legara handles everything financial.

💖

Practice That Fits the Deployment

Legara deployments run remote, hybrid, or on-site depending on the client's model. Many are remote, and you see patients from wherever the role is based, as long as you hold an active California license. Rural health centers get the same access as urban sites. Your patients appreciate the consistency, and no-show rates run around 14% across the network.

👥

Mission-Driven Patients

Every patient you see is at an FQHC or safety-net health center serving underserved communities. These are the patients with the longest wait times and the fewest options. This work matters, and providers who want clinical impact over corporate bureaucracy tend to stay.

Licensed behavioral health clinicians who want to make an impact.

We work with licensed behavioral health clinicians across all major disciplines: Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Psychologists (PhD/PsyD), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP), and Psychiatrists (MD/DO). Active California licensure is required. Bilingual providers (especially Spanish-English) are in high demand and consistently have the shortest time to full panel.

Whether you're looking to fill part of your week with meaningful work or build your entire schedule around FQHC patients, Legara can match opportunities to your availability and interests.

Express Interest

Fill out the form below. We review your background and reach out within 2 business days.

Match and Credentialing

We match you with an FQHC partner based on specialty, language, and availability. Legara assembles and submits your complete credentialing packet. Your health center runs their internal approval.

Onboarding and Integration

You complete EHR training, receive system access, and meet your dedicated PSR and your health center's BH Director. Your Partner Relationship Owner coordinates the entire process.

Start Seeing Patients

Your PSR begins coordinating scheduling. Panels typically reach full productivity within 4 to 6 weeks of first patient contact. Ongoing support continues for the duration of the partnership.

What providers ask before joining.

Am I an employee or an independent contractor?

You are an independent clinician. Legara Servicing (the MSO) provides operational support as a service. You are not a Legara employee, not a subcontractor, and not a 1099 worker for the health center. You maintain your independent practice and Legara handles the operational infrastructure around your clinical work.

What about malpractice insurance?

Legara provides professional liability coverage ($1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate) with the health center named as additional insured. This is included at no cost to you.

How does scheduling work?

Your dedicated Patient Service Representative handles scheduling within the health center's EHR system. You set your availability (days, hours, full-time or part-time). Your PSR fills your schedule within those parameters. You are not responsible for managing your own patient bookings.

How quickly will I have a full panel?

Most providers reach full panel productivity within 4 to 6 weeks of seeing their first patient. Panel build pace depends on the health center's referral flow and patient demand in your specialty.

Can I work with multiple health centers?

Yes. Some providers serve patients at more than one FQHC partner. Scheduling is coordinated across sites by your PSR.

What does the day-to-day look like?

You see patients during your scheduled hours, remote or on-site as the deployment calls for it. Your PSR coordinates the schedule, manages patient flow, and follows up on administrative items. You complete chart notes (within 24 hours is the standard). Your PRO is available for any operational questions. Most providers describe it as "I just see patients."

What is the compensation structure?

You earn per completed patient encounter. Rates depend on your license type and visit complexity. There is no billing, no collections, and no payment uncertainty. Legara handles all financial processing and you receive consistent, predictable compensation.

“

Legara handles the scheduling, the admin, the coordination. I stay focused on patient care. And the continuity matters. My patients see the same provider every time.
